Anna Mancini, Jewelry

"My work flows in part from images, colors, textures and even aromas of my native Italy. Growing up in Benevento, just east of Naples and its beautiful bay, I can't help but believe that maybe the volcano made its impression and may well have led me to explore the gemstones and crystals brought forth from the earth.
Color contrasts and nuances of jeweled tones surrounded me for most of my life...Whether in my woven beadwork, or my drawings, or when I touched upon the complexities of working with stained glass, the lushness of color and sun-glinting facets fuel my imagination endlessly.
My tendency to explore organic rather than mechanical or strictly linear forms remains rooted in the stunning landscapes, intricate culture and innate design-sense of my country.”
