Artist Statement
“Paper, color, cooking and shoes.... these are a few of my favorite things. I have been designing my own cards and stationery since I was a child. A natural career choice for me was graphic design. How else could I get my hands on all those paper sample books? When I discovered rubberstamping in 2000, my creativity was renewed!
After learning as many techniques as I could and taking as many classes with the best in the industry, I started to pair my new found art form with graphic design, making cards and handmade journals. Then my recipe book collection was getting out of hand and I needed a way to keep myself organized. I designed myself a recipe index. It was so useful to me and I figured if I need one of these there must be others who need them too. Voila! All my favorite things rolled into one. I started Gourmet Designer in 2005 and design cards, charms, a variety of indexes all with a food or cooking related theme.”
